Controlling Your Thoughts

Controlling Your Thoughts

Our mind is the most complex matter in the universe, even scientists these days are still amazed at the complexities of our minds. And yet our mind was meant to serve us and not to overwhelm us with unproductive thoughts. It seems that we can let our thoughts rule our life to the point of destruction which can cause physical as well as mental health problems.

If you are one the tends to let your thoughts just rule the way you act and think, then i have a few suggestions that may be able to help you. Thoughts are not at all unhealthy actually they can trigger a natural drug in our bodies that act like a anti depressant that makes us feel good and relaxed. These are positive thoughts, but it’s the negative thinking that can trigger a whole new set of feelings such as anxiety, worry, tension etc.

We can take back control of the way we think by evaluating each thought as it passes trough our minds, similar to knowing what a asset and a liability is. If you know that a certain thought is a asset than hold on to that thought as long as you can to draw all the positive energy from it, and if you feel a negative thought coming into your mind than grab it, now when I say grab it, you need to stop it right in it’s tracks before it reaches an emotional reaction, and throw it away.

Or you can take a back seat and just watch your thoughts from a distance as they pass in and out of your mind, you are purely observing your thoughts weather positive or negative, it is important that you don’t attach any emotional response to these thoughts you are merely observing. The purpose of this exercise is to see how much,is really going through your mind this will give those negative thoughts less control and power over you. The main thing is that you take as much of the positive energy from good thoughts and stop those negative thoughts in their tracks, before they reach that emotional stage.
